Michelin came to Vancouver and we made history
“Ăn quả nhớ kẻ trồng cây; uống nước trong nhớ người đào giếng”
Vietnamese proverb translated means, “When eating fruit, remember who planted the tree; when drinking clear water, remember who dug the well.”
On October 27, 2022, The Michelin Guide arrived in Vancouver and history was made. Anh and Chi was one of only 12 restaurants in Vancouver that received a Michelin 2022 Bib Gourmand designation. Not only that, but our very own "Mom" and Chef, Ly Thi Nguyen, is one of the first Vietnamese-female chef to be recognized for a Michelin Bib Gourmand in Canada.
We started this journey with a handful of our family's recipes, a small group of people who believed in us, and the dream of honouring our heritage with people around the table. Six years later, our community of guests and industry partners has grown to include some of the city's best cooks, servers, mixologists, sommeliers, brewmasters, winemakers, designers, photographers, writers, journalists, publicists and more. And without these people... past and present... we would not be here today.

On behalf of the entire Nguyen family, we thank our teams, past, present (and future), for the endless days and nights working by our side, laughing with us, and crying with us. There is no one else we could dream of sharing this global designation with but you.

Our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude for Vietnamese home cooking making it to the world stage, and we're incredibly honoured to be representing Vancouver as one of THE culinary destinations of the world.
