Anh and Chi, a new upscale restaurant that opened in April – and a breath of fresh air in a city more used to no-frills pho shops….with a planned patio expansion this summer, it could be just the beginning of a great new era for the decades-old Vietnamese restaurant.
Anh and Chi (“brother and sister” in Vietnamese) opened mid-April and has been sporting line-ups and a crowded room ever since.
The siblings turned to Vancouver-based House of Bohn for an interior that pays homage to both their Saigon roots and their West Coast homeland, with an elegant blend of evocative nostalgia and earthy minimalism.

The vibe here is definitely relaxed with a medium-sized cocktail menu and quite frankly, it’s all very refreshing.
While sitting in traffic at Main & 18th, I glanced over to notice a seriously eye-catching dining room. I didn’t recognize the space. But it seemed too beautiful not to know. The sign read, Anh + Chi.
The food was divine. Although we didn’t have any of the typical pho or rice dishes, the family style dishes really rocked our senses.
